We're thrilled to introduce you to Álvaro, our Machine Learning Engineer, who joined our team last spring. Álvaro has been quietly making a significant impact, and we wanted to take a moment to officially welcome him.
Álvaro has quickly become an invaluable voice in helping users install and optimize their use of Argilla. Álvaro has been contributing to the core of Argilla, taking the lead of the Python SDK development for the new Feedback task.

His commitment to open-source not only benefits our team but the broader developer community as well.
Álvaro's primary areas of interest lie in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and MLOps. However, he also delves into research on Computer Vision (CV), showcasing his diverse skill set and curiosity.
His journey in open-source commenced in 2018. Since then, he has made substantial contributions to projects associated with renowned organizations such as 🤗 HuggingFace, PyTorch, and Weights and Biases. Álvaro deeply enjoys engaging with project maintainers and the wider community, eagerly giving back through his contributions.
Álvaro's professional history predominantly revolves around NLP, spanning both research and industry. He possesses a profound appreciation for Python, particularly PyTorch, which captured his passion from the outset. Lately, he's been exploring the JAX ecosystem and has developed a keen interest in the Rust programming language since late 2022.
In his free time, Álvaro can be found engrossed in a multitude of activities. These include working on personal projects, collaborating with others, training and fine-tuning machine learning models, reading (with his favorite book being "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding), and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
Currently, Álvaro is the sole team member representing our group in Barcelona!
